life is movement

Picture
Life is movement. I truely believe that the more we can move freely in connection with others the more we will be filled with energy and much more than we use. Obviously, I love movement and try to perfect my movements. However, I think the most important is just to move freely and connect freely with others every day..

Boxing movement

The first to introduce me to the difference between fitness boxing and ring boxing was Muhaimin Bomberman Ibrahim in Singapore. After 15minutes my lungs screamed for air. In the ring I was struck by the emotional challenge from within sparring 40% with others who gave what felt like 110%.

Evans Ashira former Middleweight IBA World and & WBA Int. Champion has taken my boxing in Denmark to the next level in terms of among other finding the distance, movement and staying calm under severe pressure. With me he focuses on:

1.High performance leadership consistency and execution development.
2. Mental focus training ensuring self- confidence under high pressure.
3.Personal motivation, resource and balance management.

I can highly recommend both trainers if you are in Singapore or Denmark.

Break Dance Moves

Picture
I had the plessure to attend break dance classes for 1.5 years at flow dance academy. While to short to truely learn the craft it was an immense giving experience. Not least due to Kenneth Fogels that was brutually honnest with love to help support the development of ones potential and break body and mind habits.

I can highly recommend taking classes at flow dance academy.

Member of the Zulu nation, Kenneth is one of the most respected b-boys of Denmark. From the group
“Out of Control”, that in the 80s created and developed the break dance and hip hop culture in Europe.

“Out of Control” is recognized in the underground as well as in the commercial world.

The dancers have achieved a high level of recognition for their shows (poppin’, lockin’, new jack and break dance)
throughout both Europe, and the United States of America.

Kenneth is a member of the only Scandinavian group to have won third place in the biggest battle of the world: “Battle of the Year” in 1995.

The group has traveled all over the world with their street performances and they have danced for musicians such as Grand Master Flash, Afrika Bambaataa, Krs1, Fugees, Redman, Das EFX, A Tribe Called Quest.

Since 2001, Kenneth has had his own school, Flow Dance Academy, and helps to pass his knowledge about the love and discipline of hip hop dance on to new generations.

Tango Movement

Picture
I was first introduced to Argentine Tango in 2005. Then I had 9 years of break from tango. However, it was first in 2016 when I was reconnected to tango that I started to explore it and the gifts is has in terms of movement and reconnection. This by taking private lessons with the the trainers at M2 Tango and Aldos Tango Studie and for a short period training and forming a friendship with Susanne Maniquaire. Especially Susanne has opened my eyes for body control and awareness of small subtle muscle details and the freedom of movement together with the importance of connection and its elasticity. Actually it has also helped my back pain as I have gained better control of my spine and posture.

Running Movement

Picture
I started running in 1990 and stopped in 2001 due to illness. I ran my ass off, made deep friendships and won some Danish Youth Championships. Obviously, I loved the feeling of being in superb shape and the kind offriendships that is gained with those who you share beeing close or across your physical limits. However, I first started to run with complete freedom 14 years later after I stopped running as an athlete. Now when I run once in a while I focus on running smothly as a Ninja while breathing through my nose. This signals to the body that it should relax. The feeling I get from this kind of running is an immense sense of freedom and joy.

Movement Culture

From April 2016 I dived a litle bit into the  Movement Culture by Ido Portal:

http://www.idoportal.com/culture

Movement Culture represents a contemporary paradigm shift in physicality, moving us away from main culprits in movement and fitness as well as the separation between health, aesthetics, performance and art.

More Dance Movement

From 2015 I tried out some drop in classes in Zouk by Caroline Haugsted

http://www.zonendans.dk/en/

From 2016 I have also tried drop-in classes in Moderen floor work and Contemporary

Can highly recommend it. It helps to push my awarness and limits for body movement and control

Its confussion at a higher level also meaning humbleness for what the body can and that never ending journey with perfecting, maintaining and simply having fun :)

Movement Is Everywhere..
